Bacamarte - Depois Do Fim (1983)

"This was a Brazilian septet including Mario Neto (guitar/vocals), Sergio Villarim (keyboards), Delto Simas (bass), Marco Veríssimo (drums), Marcus Moura (flute/accordeon), Mr. Paul (percussion) and Jane Dubloc (vocals). A rich and symphonic music with wonderful keyboards and a very nice flute which enlightens the compositions full of interest and detours. A few female vocal interventions complete to enrich this great work. The band surpasses their influences: LOCANDA DEL FATE, PFM, QUELLA VECCHIA LOCANDA and ILLUSION.." - ProgArchives

Capability Brown - Voice (1973)

"Capability Brown had and still have a cult following in UK music history as a "progressive" band, ultimately based on an outstanding piece from their second album, Voice. But largely their range covered mainstream pop music, treated in an "arty", alternative fashion. The band was a six-piece in which everyone sang and played instruments. The line-up consisted of Tony Ferguson (guitar, bass), Dave Nevin (keyboards, guitar, bass), Kenny Rowe (bass, percussion), Grahame White (guitar, lute, balalaika, keyboards), Joe Williams (percussion) and Roger Willis (drums, keyboards)." - ProgArchives

Cos - Postaeolian Train Robbery (1974)

"This band's career spends over five albums released between 1974 and 1983. Often referred to as the Belgian answer to ZAO, they offer a mixture of prog rock, jazz and Canterbury styles, drawing their influences mainly from MAGMA, KING CRIMSON, HATFIELD AND THE NORTH, and of course, ZAO. They are led by flautist/guitarist Daniel Schell and feature the unique vocals of his wife, Pascale Son, who uses nonsense syllables to suggest a semblance of language; she also plays the oboe. The rest of the regular cast include Robert Dartsch on drums, Alain Goutier on bass and Charles Loos on keyboards." - Lise (HIBOU)

Kiss - Kiss (1974)

"Kiss's first tour started on February 5, 1974 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium. The band’s self-titled debut album, Kiss, was released on February 18. Casablanca and Kiss promoted the album heavily throughout the spring and summer of 1974. On February 19, the band performed "Nothin' to Lose," "Firehouse," and "Black Diamond" for what would become their first national television appearance, on ABC's Dick Clark's In Concert (aired March 29). On April 29, the band performed "Firehouse" on The Mike Douglas Show. This broadcast included Simmons's first televised interview, a conversation with Douglas in which Simmons declared himself "evil incarnate," eliciting titters from an uncomfortable and largely confused studio audience."

John Arch - A Twist Of Fate (2003)

"John ARCH was the first vocalist for FATES WARNING. He provided his unique voice to their first three albums, then retired from his music occupations. In 2002, after having neglected Jim Matheos' (FATES WARNING) offer to provide his vocals to the OSI project, John ARCH finally contacted Jim and Mike Portnoy (Dream THEATER) joined them after the OSI sessions were closed. The collaboration between John ARCH, Jim Matheos, Mike Portnoy and Joey Vera (another member of the earlier FATES WARNING line-up) resulted in the EP named 'A twist of fate', consisting of two epic tracks. After sixteen years of absence, John ARCH's voice sounds as fresh as in his debuts in FATES WARNING and even better, very high-pitched and the music is in the vein of the last albums produced by DREAM THEATER and FATES WARNING. One can notice that Jim Matheos plays not only the guitar but also the keyboard parts." - Lucas Biela-ProgArchives

Renaissance - Ashes Are Burning (1973)

"This Renaissance album maybe not be their best, but is a classic. Here in Brazil it is certainly the biggest selling album by Renaissance. The songs are great. Specially the voice of Annie Haslam. Is so melllow and lovely. Of course, the instrumental part is superb. I like mainly the keyboards and the bass. My favourite songs are Can You Understand, Let it Grow and Carpet of the Sun. The album is very similar to its predecessor. Personally I like this one a little more, but all Renaissance albums are fantastic." - akin-ProgArchives

Queen - A Day At The Races (1976)

"A Day at the Races is a rock album by English band Queen released in December of 1976.
The A Day at the Races album was the band's first self-produced album after co-producing their first four albums with Roy Thomas Baker (for Queen, Queen II, Sheer Heart Attack and A Night at the Opera) and John Anthony (Queen).
A Day at the Races was recorded at Sarm West, The Manor and Wessex Studios in England and engineered by Mike Stone. The title of the album was a reference to the band's immediately preceding album, A Night at the Opera. Both albums are titles of films by the Marx Brothers.
A Day at the Races peaked at number 1 in the UK, in Japan and in the Netherlands. It reached number 5 on the US Billboard album chart and was Queen's first US album to ship Gold in the U.S.. It subsequently reached Platinum status in sales in the U.S." - Wikipedia

Iceberg - Sentiments (1977)

"Sentiments is first-rate Spanish jazz-rock that will blow away anyone who loves RETURN TO FOREVER's "Hymn Of The Seventh Galaxy". ICEBERG peaked with this masterpiece. The guitar and Moog duels are not only mind-blowing, but worth the price of the CD. In my opinion, the only low-point of the album is the track called "Magic" which sounds more like late 70's Los Angeles-funk/fusion. "Magic" is an okay track, but lacks originality compared to the other epics. Overall, you can't go wrong with this album." - Steve Hegede-ProgArchives

Curved Air - Air Conditioning (1970)

"I actually acquired this album as a through away from my father, who as a fan of the progressive rock genre, did not rate it at all. However, I must disagree with him. "Air Conditioning" is the debut album of the female led progressive rock band Curved Air. the album all and is labeled as eclectic, but at times sounds more like the work of Yes or even The Moody Blues (especially on "Stretch"). The high points of the album are the tracks "Vivaldi", which is a sort of musical montage of some of Vivaldi's "Four Season's", and "Screw", which is an excellent eclectic all-rounder. The thing that really makes this band stand out is the use of female vocals. Compared to the vocal's of symphonic band Renaissance at times, singer Sonja Kristina delivers some excellent smooth vocals throughout, and really proves herself to be a top vocalist. The other thing that really stands out about this album is the emphasis on violin, which really boosts the albums timbre and feel throughout. A top album for any fan of eclectic prog, 4 stars" - cynthiasmallet-ProgArchives

Bram Stoker - Heavy Rock Spectacular (1972)

"Who were BRAM STOKER and the mysterious T. Brodson who composed all the tracks? This enigmatic 1972 release was recorded for Woolworths generic Windmill label and recorded presumably by session players to cash in on the early seventies success of bands like BLACK SABBATH,ATOMIC ROOSTER and BLACK WIDOW. The BRAM STOKER moniker evokes macabre gothic atmospheres, and so does their music with tracks like "Blitz" conjuring up a doom laden sound. The LP "Heavy Rock Spectacular" is a true lost pearl of original prog, dominated by moody Hammond organ that owes much to keith Emerson's influence. There are NICE overtones too with their own "Fingals Cave" whilst the sounds on "Poltergeist" seem to come straight from a gothic 'Hammer Horror'." - Piccadilly

Catapilla - Catapilla (1971)

"Here's an odd progressive jazz rock album on the Vertigo label. The music is centered around the mentally disturbed female voice of Anna Meek, and the sax of Robert Calvert (not to be confused with the HAWKWIND guy - just to warn HAWKWIND collectors out there that this isn't the same Robert Calvert). The music, for the most part, tend to be very lengthy, with lots of lengthy passages, and Meek yelling and screaming more than singing. There are also two rather short, horn-driven numbers to round things out. Regardless, a fascinating album, if you can get over the vocals." - Proghead-ProgArchives

Queen - Queen II (1974)

"Queen II is the second album by English rock band Queen, originally released in 1974. It was recorded at Trident Studios, London, England in August 1973, and engineered by Mike Stone. The two sides of the original LP were labelled "Side White" and "Side Black" (instead of the conventional sides "A" and "B"), with corresponding photos of the band dressed in white or in black on either side of the record's label face.
Numerous problems beset the album's release. Its completion coincided with the 1973 oil crisis and consequently, government-enforced measures for energy conservation delayed its manufacture by several months. Once the long-overdue first pressing arrived in record shops, the band noticed a spelling error on the sleeve, and had to complain persistently to correct it." - Wikipedia

"One of the first bands from the Canterbury School (SOFT MACHINE or HATFIELD AND THE NORTH), EGG was a trio consisting of... Dave STEWART on organ, piano and tone generator, Mont CAMPBELL on bass and vocals (also organ, piano and French Horn), and Clive BROOKS on drums. The music is very structured and composed, with classical pieces (BACH) and some light jazzy influences. "If I Could Do It All Over Again, I'd Do It All Over You is a 1970 release by Canterbury Scene rock band Caravan. According to allmusic.com, "If I Could Do It All Over Again contains significant progressions over the first album.." It was the second album by the band, the predecessor to their most well-known album In the Land of Grey and Pink. Invisible - Durazno Sangrando (1975)

"..Their next album "Durazno Sangrando" was their debut on a major label and an all out progressive album. Spinetta's lyrics were very well written. The story to "Durazno Sangrando" was based on a book by Carl Jung. "Durazno Sangrando" is their most progressive album and is generally noted as the bands best material. In 1975, virtuoso guitarist Tommy Gubitsch joined the group. Their third and final album "El Jardín de los Presentes" turned out to be their most popular. This album has a lot of Tango influence and also some sounds that would remind us of early King Crimson. After the success of "El Jardín de los Presentes" the band split up at the end of 1976. Spinetta pursued a jazz-fusion esque solo career after the breakup." - ProgArchives

Igra Staklenih Perli - Igra Staklenih Perli (1979)

"..IGRA STAKLENIH PERLI labelled their music style as "stream of consciousness music". Their both studio albums, the first eponymous "Igra Staklenih Perli" from 1979 and the second "Vrt Svetlosti" from 1980, are pretty similar in sound and resemble the style from early PINK FLOYD and HAWKWIND psychedelia, to German kraut-rock (notably CAN and TANGERINE DREAM), to HILLAGE-era GONG among many.
